“It’s about evolution rather than revolution”, explains creative director Julyan Mills. “It felt really important to treat the Show’s popular historical crest with respect and make it an integral part of the new branding.”
The result is a much cleaner, sharper version of the traditional crest – and naturally, the background is a glorious Cornish blue. The famous fifteen bezants of the Duchy remain, as does the Show’s crown, dating from when the “Royal” title was added in 1858. However the simple, clear typefaces and bold colour palette ensure that the Royal Cornwall Show’s image has a bright and contemporary look and feel.
Steve Michell, Media and Education Manager for the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association (the organisation behind the Show) is quick to praise the new-look logo and rebrand:
“We are delighted with the new, fresh branding that Creative Steam has developed for us; and we feel our print and digital image reflects the quality and history of the Royal Cornwall Show.”
